Some Other Museum Displays
There are thousands of exhibits on display, both large and small. View the Gold Displays and other Gemstones,
or take a look at the Blacksmiths shop, go back in time in the Calico Creek School, see what it would have been like to be put in the old LockUp,
or just wander through the many displays in the implements sheds and the various other buildings and exhibits.
You're sure to fill an entire day as you go back in time, and also see how things are done today in the Gold Mine. Below is just a taste of what is on display.
There are some original relics from the former No.2 South Great Eastern Mine still on site, including an operational steam winding engine,
compound air compressor and generator reconstructed on the original footings. There are also relics of later mining and gold recovery,
including an operational 50hp Ruston Engine in the Ruston Shed, ( pictured on left ).
Take a look back in time and walk through the old Calico Creek School, ( pictured on right ).
See how times have changed from when Communications were run by switchboards ( pictured left )
or why not check out the Gold Panning Area ( below ).
